hey still kind of a newbie when it comes to dsm's. i have a 97 gst and want to know, what oem upgrades i can put in my car. for instance i know i can use the 1g throttle body and blow off valve. is there anything else i can use? i'm looking for anything. brakes, suspension, performance, etc.

does the gsx have larger sway bars up front than my gst? if so, by how much? thanks

i dont only need oem upgrades but there just cheaper (i dont have tons of money ya know). also, there usually for the most part very effective. for instance the stock 1g bov holds 'almost' double the stock 2g bov. the tb off a 1g is 8 mm bigger. and together you can get them for way less than $100. try and go find aftermarket parts that are effective as that for that much money. wont happen. so in the end, its just a preference.

also, theres a junkyard near me that just got a 1g eclipse gst and a 2g gsx that has everything on it. so i just wanted to know what i could go get. both cars are in mint shape (besides the exterior (2g was rolled)(1g was rear ended)).

Some easy OEM upgrades are GSX brake calipers (2 piston vs 1), GSX rotors (a little bit bigger), EVO front mount if you don't mind doing some custom piping, EVOIII 16g turbo, Evo O2 housing, EVO injectors (560cc), EVO fuel pump (rated at close to 190), 1g throttle body, and 1g intake manifold (or JDM Cyclone intake manifold if you can find one), off the top of my head.

Technically, turbos as large as 20g are OEM as well, because they were manufactured by Mitsu...just not put in their passenger cars.

You sir! Need to take the entire rear suspension of the gsx, (including frame bolts) And ship them to me!

^^ yea no kidding, I wish I could find any kind of 2g around here...let alone a GSX.

I'd start pulling the goodies off of it and selling that stuff. I would keep the calipers and rotors for your car though...good cheap upgrade.
