I've come back into the DSM world after a 10+ year break with a 2G GS-T.

I'm not a fan of "poke" but I'm also not a fan of bolt on overfenders either, but I'd like to be able to run a nice wide wheel and tire up front, leaning towards a 245 or 255 on a 9" wheel. I would like to find an OEM style fender made from either FRP or CFRP that is 15-20mm wider than stock. I've seen one or two of these but they all have big vents or other styling features, I'm just going for OEM look.

I know custom body work is an option, but I'm hoping for something a little more bolt-on. Is there anything out there that resembles what I'm asking for?

Thanks!
Jason

I want the same kind of appearance when I build another turbo model. I've been looking at these for years, but the price sucks, on top of ridiculous shipping charges. Plus this now only lists the left fender... http://www.bodykits.com/i-24288252-kaminari-front-fender-left-ko15415l.html?ref=category:1234303

Or the entire kit for an ungodly amount... http://www.bodykits.com/i-24284195-kaminari-eclipse-wide-body-full-fender-kit-ka15405.html

I'm curious what is considered a good price for a fender?

I've thought about making a mold and making some vacuum formed wide fenders or over-fender flares. I like plastic more than fiberglass of CF as it doesn't shatter. More of an end game project as I have a lot on my plate, but what is a good price for such a fender?

For a set of wider, oem style front fenders, I personally wouldn't wish to pay over $200 for the fenders, and shipping shouldn't be over $50 tops. I've shipped parts to a friend weighing 40ish lbs for $50, and 2 front fenders wouldn't even weigh half that. I know size counts for shipping, but I don't think fenders are too big to negate such a high shipping charge. I ultimately want to do wider rear quarters as well, but for that, I've decided I'll probably cut good ones from a donor and reshape them a little to bulge out the wheel arch a little, and weld them on. My plan for doing this is because I don't like the look of fender flares (although some cars do look good with them), and I hate how car companies or aftermarket kit builders just slap on fender flares and claim it's a wide body, when the only wide thing is the wheel and tire package. To me, wide body means just that, like comparing an Evo to a Lancer...

For the price of those Kaminari fenders, I'll just have either my stock fenders, or some OEM replacements modified by a body shop. I'm not looking for anything crazy, just ~15mm, if I could get FRP and drop a pound or two, fine, bonus.

Also I question if those fenders will even fit, since they are part of a full widebody kit, the front bumper may be wider as well. I'm trying to keep everything OEM looking, with a VERY subtle pull/flare.

Might end up having to have a shop do something custom for me. Thanks for the replies!
