Conicelli's long since gone - they got out of the Mitsu business quite a while back.

Josh @ JNZTuning.com was Conicelli's DSM parts guy, he bought out their inventory and has a new Mitsu parts supplier, and now runs the same parts operation but under the new name.

I bought from tallahassee earlier this week, their web ordering system is still up and I ended up phoning in the order. For what it's worth, they didn't have anything I wanted in stock.

yah? i USED to buy a LOT of stuff from lewisville mitsu. then, all the good guys left, and the last time i was there, they gave a discount-but, first they jacked the price up like 100%. 50 off. yeah, right. 50 off of WHAT? certainly not mitsu suggest list. jnz tuning. get a REAL discount.

jnz hasnt responded to 3 emails from me. one as simple as how much a set of oem main and rod bearings would cost

here is how you do it. first, if you can, get part numbers. then, go to this site and check mitsu suggested list price:

http://www.mitsubishiparts.net/

dealers all use an individual price matrix, what that means is they all try to get more than mitsu suggested list price. after all, mitsu suggested list it just that, suggested. dealers are not required to sell parts, or cars for that matter, at suggested list price. however, KNOWING what suggested list price will then tell you how bad your favorite dealer(like lewisville mitsu) is porking you. some dealers will actually give you a discount off of book list. they usually do this with shops. the worst is if you take the car to the dealer for service, then they really jack the price.
a common trick is to tell the customer they are getting a big discount. like 50%, which is ridiculous. no one is going to give a discount that big, because then they will be selling stuff at or near cost. dealers are in business to make money. so, if they are giving a 50% discount, either they are lying, or they are marking up the list price to make up for the big discount. when i go to the dealer, i got my part numbers, and i got mitsu suggested list price. actually, i call them first, and ask how much. if they tell me prices that are way over list, even with the "discount", i go elsewhere.

We all know mitsubishi's prices are high, but some things are only available through the dealer. I don't know of any place that sells the door trim piece that runs on the top of the outside of the door. I know I got 50% off because he showed me the list price, he's a cool kid and I don't really think he's interested in price gouging people. $4.00 is better than $10.00. At least you don't have to deal with the hassle of trying to get in touch with a business over the web or searching around to see who has what. The website you gave, mistubishiparts.com, only carries clutch, brake, and suspension parts. There is a lot more to a cart than just that... But, I know there are a hell of a lot of parts I wouldn't ever buy from the dealer. Like my front wheel bearing for example, picked it up for $75 on ebay brand new. Or, I could go to the dealer and pay $275 minus the 50%, that isn't a deal at all! :thumbdown

So, do your research, if it isn't made aftermarket then you're probably going to be stuck with calling the dealership.

Anywho, it's there if you want it. Call em up... :thumb:

Mitsu prices are not high - dealer gouges are high.

There's JNZTuning, Talahasee, Ft.Myers, and several other dealers that give us genuinely good discounts. Call them, compare, they're not high - try parts for other manufacturers.

Josh is definitely busy with trying to carry over all the demand from Conicelli. I know he's trying hard to keep up. Bearing with him and staying loyal will help him to get his business off the ground, meaning continued discounts for all ;)

WRONG AGAIN. if you even bother to check, which i KNOW you didnt, you will note that EVERY PART NUMBER in the mitsubishi system is on that web site. you probably work at lewisville mitsu. i know that the dfwdsm group, of which i AM a member, used to go to lewisville mitsu, but we quit going there a long time ago.

What do you mean wrong again? Where was wrong the first time???

Okay, so if you've done the research and you know the exact part number, which to me is like trying to find the bar code number on a loaf of bread so I can buy it from Walmarts warehouse... than good for you. I personally like service rather than trying to spend my time, which is valuable to me, on huntuing around for part numbers.

And, no I don't work for mitsubishi. I'm just another dsm'er who has had much trouble trying to save money by avoiding the dealer and only ending up with hassles or crap parts... I'm very aware of DFWDSM, and I know we all used to buy from Lewisville mitsu, but there are new people there who are trying to start it back up again. What's the problem anyway? Did they give you a chip on your shoulder or something??? :(

Again, it's there if you want it.
