I wonder where the idea of a leather-wrapped steering wheel came from. It's a crappy idea. The leather used is stupidly thin, and has to be treated to the point it's hardly leather anymore. Then, between soaking up sweat, sun exposure, and the inevitable abrasion it'll receive in a DSM, it's not long before they begin to rot and die. To add to the entertainment value, many leather treatment products warn you to not use them on steering wheels, as though a slippery silicone coating on a wheel is a bad idea or something.
Anyway, I have a nice, bulletproof, rotproof, wearproof, sweatproof vinyl wheel just waiting for my ambition to get itself installed.
I guess the sales wonks just insist on having that line in the advertising propaganda.
