Hey guys. I have a wierd starting problem. Car runs great and never had a starting problem before. It cranks really slow and usually takes a few long tires to get it started. Everytime i shut it off, and try to start it, the cd player resets. I did notice the first day it happened, i had a loose battery terminal. Tightened it up and it fired right up. Since then its really slow cranking. Any ideas?

I drove it for an hour today, figured it would charge. Got home and shut it off. Still same slow cranking. It Will start a few mintues later to hours later or the next day. Checked fuses/relays and grounds. All look good. Whats causing the reset on my cd player? I did drop/relocate the battery down by the mount a month ago but i had no isues when i did that. Would a loose terminal for a while complety drain the battery and im just needing a new one? I Just dont understand why it has a really slow crank but starts everytime and resets everytime i shut it off and on. possibly a starter issue? Its never made a grinding noise.

Check the condition of your battery cables and terminal ends. Look for corrosion or anything that will cause resistance. Clean your terminals and battery posts very well, and also check the ground connection to the block and body, making sure they are clean and have good connections to bare metal.

Your CD player probabaly blew the accessory fuse in the factory fuse box or on the rear of the deck. Check those, and test for 12v on the acc. Wire when the key is in the ACC and ON positions. If you still have no voltage and the fuses are good, you have a bad connection or break in the wire (uncommon).

Check the voltage with the car off. U should be over 12.6 volts. Check the voltage with the car running. Should be in the high 13s. If the starter is cranking slow and u have a good charged battery then the issue will be the starter. They don't necessarily need to make a noise to know they're bad. Don't trust auto parts store starters. They are crap like the alternators.
