sound number one: At idle after driving a ways ill sometimes hear like a bup bup sound coming from the exhaust i think, if sitting in the car i can feel the bup bup in the floor... any ideas?

number two: Sounds like a soda bottle opening the phish sound (pressure of some sort being let off?) sound come and goes and is short.

Likely an exhaust leak.

Please tell me that this isn't the BOV ;)

BTW.. nice car. White 1GAs :rocks: :dsm:

No haha i have it recirculating. the phish sound is when its sitting still at idle.
I know i have a nice leak where the turbo meets the block but would that make like a put/bup sound seemingly come out the end of the exhaust pipe?

Thanks!!

You mean where the manifold meets the head.If you have a exhaust leak it will make sure strange noises.

The bup bup coming out of your exhaust, could be timing is off a little and the other is possible to be a exhaust leak somewhere in the pipe. under the car maybe.

ok, well the exhaust is practically new i put it in mid august, i then got the timing done when i got my FMIC. the only reason i can think for timing to be off is that a cop searching my car ripped out my SAFC and i had to reinstall it the settings were gone and i put in the settings i had before i got my FMIC.

Your tune might be messed up. I think I know the sound you are talking about, almost like a miss? Does the car act funny while you're driving, say, if you are just cruising along at a set speed, or when you are accelerating, does the car seem to dip really quick? like a miss? check your plugs and wires.

it doesnt dip, it cruises fine and when i accel it takes off. but at idle those sounds some times happen. I'm taking it to my shop to get my BOV flange shortened right now it touches the hood ill just have them look at it.

ok so i took my car to the shop to get some work done. after i got it back they had lengthened my air filter hose to allow a coolant overflow jug. they also adjusted my BOV flange to fit better. Within minute of getting it back my car started bogging out and stalling at red lights. I know my ISC is dead but i have it taped shut. the shop is telling me my block off jump has gone south after 6 months of working fine. could they be right or is there likely a goof up that we're missing?

Replace your ISC. Do that right away and make sure you buy a new gasket. I just did mine, no more idle surge. As for the second sound, where does that come from, it almost sounds like what my tranny does when it wonts to snack on my TOB.

TOB= Throw out bearing for tranny.

Well, if you are positive its coming from the driver rear side, it could be a timing issue, or even the gasket for the front case of the block is toast, and leaking coolant or oil. Also check you oil filter housing for leaks. First, take off the lower timing cover and look for any leaks. Shit, it could even be the brake line, rank and pinion, there is a lot of stuff it could be. If its possible, take a video of under the car and over top in the hood. That would really help.

Jeez thats a lot of stuff to check. my throw out bearing is new. i have no puddles under the car, and if it were a gasket wouldnt it be constent? this sound comes and goes, like something builds up pressure then releases it.
