Well, I have had this problem for a while, and thought I would run it past you guys, thinking maybe someone had the same problem before.

When my car is idling, I can hear a faint, continuous squeek. It is also evident when the car is not running, when I shut my driver's door, though, of course it only lasts about half a second this way. Any ideas? Thanks, guys!

Well, MOST of the time when it is idling, I will notice it, though it is faint. I also notice it when I shut the door or hood. It is louder when I shut the door/hood, than when it is only idling.

I know it isn't an acc. belt, I have checked them many times before, and that still wouldn't explain the door/hood slam squeek. I know they are the same squeek. I just CANNOT figure out where the heck it's coming from! It really isn't a big deal, but it bugs me when I can't fix something... After something starts to annoy me, or breaks :dsm: , I keep trying to fix it until It's right. There are some other noises, squeeks, etc. that I would like to fix, but I am going to go for fixing one at a time.

it is possible that its some plastic on the interior rubbing and the vibration at idle is just enough to make it squeek. check your a-pillar?

i had a squeek not too long ago and it was my crank shaft pulley splitting in half OMG

that wasnt good.

Hairline cracks in metal of your car can cause this. I had the same problem with my door. It would make this squeking noise, found out under my door panel there was a few small hairline cracks, Welded them up and no more noise. When your in your car hit your door panel see if you hear the same noise, if so take off your panel and keep hitting the inner metal until you can track down the noise.

Thanks for all the ideas, guys. I will check the car over closely tomorrow. I will let you know if I find anything. :talon:
