Some say it not being on send the ecu in to a different kind of loop, but it would be best if it were installed. Mine, I didnt notice any changes accept no CEL

Hey-

You won't have any problems with your engine running different than before. The O2 sim-sensor replaces the factory O2 sensor that was after your cat. The only purpose that one had was to let the computer know whether or not your cat was working.
So, since you have no cat, the sim-sensor throws out a relatively constant voltage to the computer to make it look like the cat is there and working as it should; thus no worries about your CEL being on or you failing emissions tests if you have to worry about that in your state.
Hope my over-informed reply helps out :D

Fellas you don't need an 02 simulator! I havea 3 dollar 10 minute mod that works every time. All you need to do is go get two 18mm spark plug anti foulers. Drill one anti fouler out out to the size of your 02 sensor sniffer end and screw the sensor into the anti fouler. Screw that combo into a 2nd anti fouler. Screw those into the exhaust bung and plug the sensor back in. It'll be electrically connected and only sniff a minute portion of the exhaust gas passing by. I know it sounds weird but it's a great idea. All the Evo guys are doing it. I'll make a tech article for you guys soon with pics.
