I need to know if my tuning is off here please.
I have i/E/H no cat, ported manifold, TPS, head polish.
my long term reading is 9.5 sometimes 10% on o2 reading. so I'm getting to much fuel in and i wanted to know if the o2 sensor might be going bad. I did replace it about a year ago (about 15k miles on it) Or is this the time when I should buy a safc and start changing my fuel map. I was at idle to 2000 rpm's when i was testing it. Let me know what i should do or if this is a normal reading with my mods. :thumb:

You could buy an SAFC and bring those trims closer to zero but there is not a problem with the car. The fact that the trim has changed at all shows that the sensors on the car are working properly, the driving conditions the car is exposed to such as temperature, altitude, stop and go, and the biggest one - your foot- all contribute to how far from zero that number get. The computer has the ability to monitor that LTFT the same as you do and if it gets too far from zero then it will turn on the CEL.

Let's say the LTFT was going richer and richer just with those mods you had and you decided to "fix" the problem with an SAFC. You'd only be masking a bigger problem because you don't really have alot on the car that would mess with a/f ratio that much which means that there's a real problem somewhere. Your o2's fine and 10% from zero is not that far out. The 2gnt's run rich anyways. You can probably buy an SAFC and go to a dyno and have it tuned properly and gain a few HP here or there and maybe even pick up a mile to the gallon.

Cool thanks for the reasurance that My tuning so far is close to perfect on the car. I figured That with out a turbo my cars a/f ratio wouldn't make that much of a worry unless it was somewhere around like 20 or something, but I guess I can continue to bush the invulop on this car. Quick Q - Does anyone know if the chrome ebay manifold for the 420a is worth the buy or not, Also is it worth it when I add a turbo to the mix?

Woudn't know about the ebay manifold. Though when you add a turbo, you will be getting a turbo manifold, to mount the turbo. (and wastegate if going that route) So the only benefit an NT manifold will have after you turbo, would be looking pretty on the garage wall.

Have you upgraded the internals for your engine to get your hp and tq? I ask that because you probably have higher compression pistons and you will need to change those out for lower ones once you add a turbo.

Sorry about that. Short runners with that huge plenum would tend towards more HP and less torque. Not likely very much on our little engines. Not worth it in my opinion, unless you want the bling under the hood.

I believe people have problems mounting their MAP sensors to the OBX intake. Expect a little more work that usual to install this.

Not that I really care all that much but totaleclipse_05 check out his profile and use your common sense. I just don't want anyone fooled.

Would the computer fix from howell Fix that problem? i got the same problem.. and how do they fix it at a dyno? I never been to one.... yet

Well, you wouldn't fix it really. The ECU see's that you are putting your foot into the throttle pedal so it composats for that. Also the mods you have will send it farther past the 0% mark bro. Or so Doug99RS say's. I asume that you won't need the safc or any fuel control device untill you get into more crazy mods.

Maybe I am missing something, but that confuses me.

edit: nevermind that ^^ , it just clicked.

dsmdragon: And I am curious which power chip you are using.

what are you talking about here man. If it has to do with my HP and torgue then you might want to see that I have a different tranny and so-on add to those readings bro. I see you have a non-turbo runing about the same that's tight what altatude are you at

Gearing in the transmission has no effect on horsepower.

If you don't think i know that then i have no point in driving a car. first of all my car has lots of torgue and my modifcation are very real for the HP output i have. I also live where it's cold and a low altatude even though that doesn't make a thing really. So why the questions about it?

I'm not sure what your angle is (and again, I really don't care) but I just don't want other's to see info and be mislead (THAT is purely my angle. my work on the 420a has been well documented and followed. I do this so that others can have a relatively cheap path to follow if they want to put some power into their 420a and keep them NA).

You just magically dropped down your dyno numbers from 170'swhp and 180's torque yesterday, to the numbers that are posted now (160's). Your info in profile does not make sense. those that know can see multiple problems. The Neon tranny will only make you slower, a chip for our engines? etc............eh, I saw your numbers previously and looked at your profile and just let it lie. I suggest that you do the same.

Cool bro I won't make a fight of this but My dyno sheet is what it is. I took it to the track and dyno'd the car just last month. My numbers have changed because I did take off some stuff on my car. I do understand that might show someone that my profile is a little questionable to some. But believe me I am at 162. If you'd like I will change what is on my list and take of the items I'm not ruing anymore since I'm going turbo. Sorry for the confusion
