Ok, I been searching threads and havent really found an exact answer for what I am thinking. So here goes: I have been looking at o2 housings trying to decide which ones to buy, and the choices are pretty much 4 different ones. One that recircs to current internal gate to the exhaust stream, one that dumps the internal gate to the atmosphere, one that has an external gate and dumps to the atmosphere, and lastly an external gate that recircs. Now my question on the external gate ones is what do you do to the internal gate? You cant weld it closed cause then the exhaust would never get to the gate? would you leave it functional so it has to open 2 gates? or would you weld the internal gate open so it only has to open the external gate? Or would I be better just dumping my internal gate?

My set up is pretty basic, 3" exhaust (not sure if it is cat back or tbe, but may just be cat back cause the o2 housing looks stock and same with dp). 16g turbo (not sure on big or small, side says TD05H), MBC and open K&N filter. But I have a greddy type rs bov waiting for my hard intercooler pipes to go on. and then a better o2 housing and downpipe.

Hope this is everything you guys need to help me figure this out.

Is it not to hard to remove the flapper? Never really studied one to know and I am sure it could easily be figured out?

if you put the external wastegate on the o2 housing you would need to completely take the flapper off the turbo... if its going on the manifold you will need to weld the flapper shut also correct me if im wrong but isnt a tdo5 turbo a stock turbo?

It is Bigger than the stock turbo, now, I decided to go with an external wastegate, now the question is atmos. dump or recirc? I searched and found lots of threads pertaining to it, but they all go different ways, some say that dumped is better, others say recirc is better. Some say that the only difference is sound. What is your guys takes on this, since the ones I found usually were couple years old. So wanted to freshen up no the latest about these things. Doing a precision 39mm gate if that makes a diff.
