O2 dump causing knock?

dacowgod my question may be hard to answer seeing I don't have my turbo on plus the manifold is off the car but what do you think about my setup? It's 18-19" long which makes it sit almost evenly with the front crossmember. From what I remember when it was on I would say it sat not farther than 6" from the block. You think that is too close and could give false knock? I was experiencing the same dilemma as the OP but to a lesser degree but never got the car fully tuned before I pulled the engine to do some paint work.
