NX direct port kit-max shot on stock engine?

ok after searching and reading through many uninformed posts, i'm just going to ask. What is the max direct port hp shot that can be run on a stock 91 AWD Talon? I keep seeing like 75 in the older posts, but i thought these blocks could handle 400hp!? I mean my civic's 1.6 ltr engine can handle a 75shot, shouldnt a 2ltr "bullet proof" block be able to handle more?

and then i saw that one problem that could come up is the stock wg not being able to vent enough exhaust to keep boost normal, so would an upgraded wg solve this?

An external gate helps but you will still get 3psi of added boost. If your running 20psi on a large turbo and you spray 75hp shot direct port on top you will end up with 23-24psi and that 75hp shot will make 125hp because of cooling effect.

So you have 23-24psi which should roughly make 350whp (I'll say low for arguements sake)
You have a 75HP Nitrous kit, giving you 125hp because of the 75hp from nitrous 50hp from the cooling effect of nitrous. (this is very common on turbo cars.

All in all you now have 475whp. The thing about nitrous is that it creates a lot of cylinder pressure very quickly which tends to blow up ring lands and put holes in skirts of pistons. If you were to spray 75hp shot on a stock turbo and stock boost level it would probablly handle it however most guys contemplating nitrous do not have a competly stock setup.

so the 75shot is considered the max, because on a turbo'd engine the result is alot more power than just 75hp.

yea the can handle like 400hp but nitrous is different it freezes gas and slames it in witch results in alot of horses all at once not over an rpm range yea im sure the 2.0 can handle alot more then a crappy ass civic 1.6 but it is stupid you dont want to #### up your car quick do you ok i did not think so i would recomend like 50 hp out of nos or not any at all if your looking for seriuos power go with more all motor parts ####stick

i asked about the effects of nitrous on a turbo'd DSM, not an example of its effects on your brain, thanks anyway.

75 shot is not the biggest you can run on stock internals. It all depends on your turbo and your mods. Also how much boost you run with that particular turbo. Hell, I've got an FP Green and plan on running 25psi plus a 50 shot on it. Nate Crisman and their 2004 grassroots car were spraying 150hp shot with a stock turbo, stock motor.

It comes down to TOTAL HP and tuning. stock internals can handle 500whp on a good tune. Doesn't matter HOW you get there.

As everyone else has said.

It's not the point that the block can handle it. It's the fact of the internals. Sure, the drivetrain can handle 400hp give or take without haven to be upgraded. That's engine made power, with a decent level of boost.

Now, once you add nitrous, you start to increase the level of pressure and strain on your pistons. This can lead to, as Jim said, a hole in the skirt of your pistons, or blown rings. That's generally where the nitrous causes the most engine failures. Forged pistons and such, of course, are much stronger, and can handle that added pressure. That's why when you build a motor, plan ahead. I plan on using nitrous Direct Port on my GSX in the future, so I'm building my motor with forged pistons and rods. There's also ceramic coating your pistons, but that's another issue.
