Currently Im running full pennzoil syncromesh, but here lately since it been cold my tranny is notchy when driving the first 5-10 mins. Im wondering what most you guys are running maybe a blend of syncromesh and a thinner gear oil with it. Most of the notchiness is from 2nd gear. I also get some noise going into reverse, but that isnt effected by cold or warm. :talon:

I run BG SynchroShift and I also feel the same notchiness for the first 10-15mins when she is cold. Just something I deal with. The fluid doesn't warm up/move until the car is in movement.

I also run the Pennzoil Syncromesh and I get the notchiness when it's cold. I also have learned to deal with it. Not like your going to be doing and hard driving untill the car is good and warm anyways. Or atleast you shouldn't. Plus, the 1g trannies aren't known for their smooth shifting anyway. I bet 90% of all 1g trannies have some sort of notchiness to them. You've gotta roll with it, adapt, E' Ching, Darwin (Or what ever Tom Cruise says in Collateral)

I just came to this forum for this exact reason, mine does the same thing.... you just have to hold down the clutch a little longer and shift VERY slowly... i try to ride first gear as long as i can before i shift, but it almost ALWAYS grinds the first time i go into 2nd.... i too, am dealing with it....

My tranny grinds on second and third when it is cold.

When the car gets warm it is fine. Am I the only one with grinding? I am planning on picking up a used awd tranny.
