Notch in cylinder head.. Is it okay?

I picked up this head a while back, and i never really thought anything about it until i went to put it on. It has this notch next to/on the spark plug holes, and im wondering if it will be alright? I didnt really think much of it when i got partly because i didnt notice it, But now that i get to looking at it im really not to sure about it.

Looks fine to me. I would run it. Have you had it redecked?

that looks just fine. I would do a check and makes sure there arent any sharp edges. If there are sand em down so you dont get hot spots. Otherwise it wont cause a loss of compression because the spark plug threads go way deeper than that.

Alright good. i just wasn't sure and it seemed a little big to me. As long as you don't think it will be a big deal i feel much better about using it. What i would also like to know is how could something like that have happened? Is it common? Could it have came like that from the factory?

Looks like a gouge from a valve stem or broken spark plug. At that point it should not be a hot spot to cause a problem.
