NOOB logger problems

ok so i purchased a pocketlogger with usb cable and setup for my 1g dsm. it came with 2 discs, the mmcd and the actual palm software. i tried installing both and finally got the mmcd to install. my problem is when i click the hotsync button on my palm. it makes that windows xp beep noise but tries to connect for around 3 minutes and then says it cant. i need to figure out why it isnt connecting...i thought a bad usb cable/port but why does it make the "windows beep noise" on my pc when i click connect? any help would be appreciated. OLDMAN u out there?

Sounds like you might have a driver issue with your USB. Try reintsalling the software.

That and make sure all wires are plugged in and that the usb port is enabled in the bios. Did you establish connection during your palm desktop installation.

Does this mean the palm software installation was unsuccessful?

when i inserted the palm install disc it brought up 3 things to install..i clicked the first, and it came up with something like "blah blah couldnt be found". same thing happened with the 2nd and 3rd thing i tried to install. so then i try to install my mmcd disc and that brought up one of those icons that "cant be read/opened" with any of the programs on my computer. so i looked on this site and found the d/l for this software and now i have that downloaded but no palm data downloaded because it couldnt read a certain thing. i ll try to install the palm disc again and tell you what happens in like 3.5 minutes.

k i have the choice to install "wed clipping", SMS, or multimail. whenever i try to download any of the three it first states.."the palm desktop software must first be installed for this update" im guessing i didnt recieve one of the discs that i should have? can someone link me to some palm desktop software?
