:dsm: ok first off in reguards to my last thread i'm going to answer some questions
1: nonturbo 3000gt is a 6 cylinder chrysler motor. just like the 420a a 4 cylinder chrysler motor both made right here in the usa.the fuel pump,injectors and fuel pressure regulator(in older models) are what is interchangable not to mention many chasis parts. the same part on a 95-99 eclipse can be found on dodge stratus,chrysler sebring,chrysler cirrus,dodge neon(same block also),plymouth breeze just to name a few.
now to the car 200 hp isn't hard so lets jump to my mod list

MOTOR:
97 stock eprom ecu-reflashed w/software-auterra
msd coil pack

I just like to share my thoughts and knowledge with people who are intrested. And for the people who need to see a dyno sheet like previosly stated in the previous thread i wrote than don't believe me, you can think i'm a liar and your car is better than anyone elses

not to sound like an ass... but if you've gone that far why haven't you used CAMS???? your dumping in all this fuel but i don't see how your getting extra oxygen. You have a p&p head but you don't list a overbored TB or extruded intake mani, things like that increase the flow of air into your engine and are nec. when upgrading your fuel system. Im interested in your reasons for the upgrades. I know you listed NO2 but you don't run that constantly so.... let's hear it.
 
I still dont see 200hp worth of mods. maybe i missed something.

But isnt EPROM for the turbo ECUs only, how did you get it to work with a Chrysler non-Eprom ECU??

What is the need for all that extra fuel??

Removing the Evap\EGR does not add any power at all.

Porting the 420a manifold on the Eclipse\Talon results in minimal gains due to the shape of the manifold, kinda like the letter 'C'. Porting tools cant reach more than 1-2 inches inside the long runners.

A 120 wet shot will blow up a 420a, imagine what a 120 dry shot will do.

To me these mods dont make since, and will probably get the car to only around 150-160hp at the crank. With all that fuel and Evap\EGR stuff the computer is probably struggling to keep the car running, hell you might even have less horsepower than u started with LOL
 
ok for all the people on this thread it clearly says p&p intake if you don't understand that as being the manifold(both pieces) after i already said a akimoto intake than sorry for not specifing, the reason for not putting new cams in cause they are useless, be simply reshaping the cam lobe you can do the same effect as new one for 1/10 of cost. hate to tell ya but even with the mass of fuel flow i'm still running white on the plugs and the nos shot dry is not as volatile as wet and i had a 150 shot on there before I dont know what you's think you know but think before you talk and go to school for mechanics before you comment finally i'm not sure the specific years or models for the eprom ecu but i have a 1997 gs and it came stock on there. unless you can magically program non eprom ecu's or maybe mine is just special who knows
 
also you can't remove the egr without the car running right but the evap being removed and vacuumes being rerouted helps increase vacuume for the egr which in turn recirculates the unspent gas faster allowing for cleaner hotter combustion so sorry it may not add"Horsepower" but it increases cars performance and thats what matters
 
oh yea and nitrous doesn't blow up a car
nitrous is a mixture containing 33% oxygen as a replacement for regular CO2 which only contains about 14% oxygen. the only thing that blows up a car is misuse and neglect. if properly balanced you caould run nitrous through your car on a daily basis and still only take 15% of your motors total life expectancy
 
Seriously, why would you post if you do not have ANY kind of proof.

The NTs did not have EPROM at ANY time.

If you did reflash your ECU, it would return to stock settings within a couple of days. But, you already knew that, right?

The way you state things:

"ceramic coated headers " -Its header (again, you only have 1)
"generic downpipe and muffler " - Its either flex section or front exhaust pipe(Chilton's) and why not get an actual cat-back instead of just a muffler?
"omitted cat converter " -What are you replacing it with? testpipe? big gap?
"modified EGR/Evap- to dispurse excess fuel overload" - EGR block-off would have been easier to state and recognize.
"modified cumpucar 120 shot"- Its Compucar. What did you modify?

Again, needing legit proof.

That says it all right there. With all that fuel it doesnt make since that you are running lean and if you are running lean image what a 120 dry shot would do to your motor. A wet 100 shot is pushing the limits of the 420a with its cast pistons. Dude you really need to think first, look at my mod list. I dont even have 200hp at the crank let alone the wheels.

that is backwards. My ERG is gone, and has been gone for over a year. Car runs fine, even passed emissions. Removing the Evap system is what causes the car to run bad.
 
It's an amazing machine as Lance would say. As long as you're happy with it, it's cool with me.

I would be interested in seeing you at the DSM Shootout this August in Norwalk, OH. I will be there with other all motor (which would mean no nitrous just in case) 420As aiming to break the 200hp mark. I'm sure there will be many people there eager to see someone else break the 200hp mark on the dyno then. Considering it's VERY hard to break 200hp NA on these engines (as in there aren't any authenticated, documented cases of such in existence yet). If you want to be the most powerful stock displacement 420A 2GNT around, you're gonna have to beat me man. You will all have to beat me! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

I just love the way this sounds right here...

The 3000gt non turbo engine is a non turbo 6G72, the same engine that the twin turbo version uses.

Only in 97+ did the base model use a SOHC V6 (which is probably the chrysler motor you're talking about) but the SL model still used a non turbo 6G72 rated at 220 hp.
 
i think the guy is right about the chrysler motor thing. I think all the Engines (3 total) that came in the 3000GT are made by chrysler. Go to www.allpar.com . I thought mitsubishi made that motor but guess not.
 
Well, I can't seem to find the engine code of the SOHC, it might just be a 6g72 SOHC that chrysler designed.

I don't know that much about it, but I just didn't want people to think that the 3000gt/stealth engine was the same v6 3.0 found on cirrus' etc.
 
The 95-99 had progamable ecu's it's a fact with a diagnostic machine you can hook up the ecu, reset the desired value's higher than the designated factory settings EX: if the stock injector was say 1 time every 3 nanosecond avg. then you can set that at 5 nano's and the ecu will adjust accordingly but will always be that measurement higher. It goes for all the adjustable settings 16 i think in all out of 22
 
need help...

running all motor 420A.... need help in finding tech notes on running a adjustable fuel regulator on a 97 non-turbo 420A motor....

have a stock regulator and have already purchased a B & M adjustable regulator fuel this process....

my concern is by passing the stock regulator in the tank already and what process it will take to do this....

any tech notes would be great and if someone as already done this and can shed a little light on this subject for me it would be great...
 
I'm just now finding this thread, I've researched a few threads by vertiay but only breifly. What engine are you claiming to have in it? the 2.5L v6 found in the cirrus/stratus/breeze/sebring/sebring coupe cars? Like this?

If you have this engine in the car then it is very easy to reach 200 whp since it already has nearly that much at the crank. I'm not exactly sure of the hp rating but I thought it was between 180-205 Crank HP. Which would mean with a 5 spd trans, full exhaust, porting and polishing it would be relatively easy to move that power right to the wheels.

On the cam grinding... I'm of the opinion that any grinding you do to the cam will only reduce the lift, the duration, or both. However, I do know that you can change the TDC mark of the cams by grining them differently than the factory but again you'd still be reducing the dimensions. I'd like to think you could get better gains from dialing in the stock cams with adjustable cam gears than by regrinding the stock cams.

The PCM's are reprogramable using the dealer scan tool (DRBIII) and work station (MDS/TechConnect). I would imagine that if you found someone that could hack the software that you could reprogram it yourself. Just like with the 95 turbo EEprom, if you reprogram it properly, it will not go back to the factory settings because the software that you flash in to it now become what the PCM thinks to be "factory".

The EGR system is the performance aspect of the emissions system and the EVAP system has no affect on performance. Read:

The Evap system only requires a small amount of electricity, a small amount of vacuum and is not belt driven, crank driven or anything like that. It's responsible for scavenging all the fuel vapors out of the fuel lines, tank, and related components and introducing them in to the intake manifold for combustion.

The EGR on the other hand introduces exhaust in to the intake system to reduce temperatures thereby reducing NOx. A failing EGR valve can cause a performance issue like stalling out, cruising surge and rough running. The EGR is performance, emissions and driveability, while the Evap emisisons system is emissions only unless you develope a vacuum leak and then it can affect the other two.

So what engine is it that this car has again???

Nope, they are mitsu engines, as are the 3.0L v6's in caravans and sundances and such. The 3.3 and 3.5L are chyrsler engines.
