Nonstop Frustration idle!

i recently found out that my isc went bad so i said okay. and i replaced it with another one.

before i had my old isc, there was a major idle surge in cold. but once i got my replacement isc in, the surge stopped but my idle jumped up to 2k!

i was driving home from my friends house tonight and i stopped at a red light and the rev was at 2300! its very unstable (high) and doesn't seem to be going down

and suggestions?

i am also suffering from this problem i am fairly new to dsm guys any help would really be appreciated i just rebuilt my engine and can't seem to get all the bugs out my idle is also horrible mine goes from 1000 to 1500 up and down about once every second i thought it was my tps replaced it stopped for about 3days and now back to the same problem if anyone could help i would appreciate it.

xreaction your throttle cable could be getting stuck if it only happens after driving for a while(from what I've read). Turbodreamslc, does your happen the second you start your car? If so, when my therm. went out it would surge between 1000 and 1500 until it would just die. If to make sure the wires/them are in good shape.

this wouldn't be the case because i just rebuilt the throttle body

Yea...guys I'm in the same boat. It would only happen after driving for a while. Sometimes better..sometimes it gets worse.

After replacing the ISC, you really need to do the BISS setting procedure.

Guys, this sound's like the classic symptoms of a bad FIAV. Do a search on this and you will find more than you could ever want to know. I had the same problem with a super high idle as soon as the weather started to get colder. I just picked up a new throttle body from throttlebodies.com because the seal's in mine were shot as well. I got a fiav block off plate so I didn't have to worry about this again later down the road since ther is no way to test the FIAV.

search the tech section or vfaq for idle surge fixing. all above suggestions could be the cause, mine is the damn FIAV
