This makes no sense, ive been hunting down issues with my dsm for the past week. First ok she didnt want to start, replaced alt and battery(relocated it PITA), problem solved. Ok next, installed c.o.p had issues but fixed them. Now in cyl 3, its missing, but it seems to be intermittent. At which i cant figure out, replaced the one coil same issue, well let me say, i didnt have these issues when i first started the car it idled fine. Any ideas? Also stupid part on me, is that i ran it low on gas so who knows. I unclipped cyl 3 injector clip and it doesnt change, and my wideband reads nothing. Makes sense the injector is firing. I ohmed tested it, seems to be fine.

Just to let you guys know, wired my c.o.p setup myself. Also ive been thinking, but was told it shouldnt matter as long as its making contact, but my springs do poke out of the boots a bit. Not sure if that will cause any issues. I would think that the boots should pretty much sit on on top of the plug. So since it protrudes out a lil bit, it may not be able to sit flush.

Also, my trans, i guess the shop before me when installed my flywheel must of over tq, or crossed threaded my bolts into the block. When i did my clutch install i didnt think to chase the treads or even thread in a bolt to make sure they were ok. Learned that lesson. Well any ideas on how to fix it. Should i use a helicoil or just retapped them. Not really sure on how to go about this. I was told that you cant tighten the helicoil very tight, i find that kinda odd but. I dont know i never used one. Also since the trans isnt bolted to the engine block, while its missing i can see the trans just bounce around.

I would love to enjoy my dsm, of whatever i have left of the summer. I think i have just stupid issues. Most of them was from the owner before me. Hes actually on these forums, but thats the past. Also i had to vent let my problems out there, so i can get some ideas on what you guys think. But i didnt get to drive it a lil bit.

The long springs could be causing the problem. Are you sure you did not cut the boots too short.

Which bolts on the BLOCK did the shop screw up? If they cross treaded the bolts on the fly wheel you need a new crank. If not which ones did they mess up "block" is soo vague.

Its the ones that actually connect your trans to the engine "block". Also im pretty sure i cut them far enough. I think i could prob trim them a lil more. Since i think they are too tall.

I would get a tap for the ones too the block and re tap them if you can I would NOT use helicoils on that they will not be strong enough to hold the trans to the block. Also get new bolts.

if it were me id switch back to the stock coil pack. problem free and proven to make enough fire to suport 450plus hp. people run 10sec 1/4miles on stock coilpack namebrand plugs and wires really all you need untill you break the 450hp zone. as far as your tranny to block thread holes, dont helicoil. that stuff will pull out. try an re-tap it. make sure you get a thread repair tool thats the same metric size of course. use a lil cutting oil or wax and make sure you thread it straight. next get fresh bolts that are a 1/4 longer than what was orriginaly there. the holes go a bit deeper than what the bolts do. this gives you second chance for when they get messed up. tiny bit longer they will penatrate in a bit further and work fine. almost every bolt hole is like this. i had to do it on a head where the exhaust manni studs were. 5 outa 9 were messed up. jus put tiny bit longer ones in they'll penatrate in ferther and grab fresh never been used threads

so would anyone have an idea on what thread size it is, and where i could get a thread repair kit. I have to look into my ignition problem a little bit more. Thanks for the help so far.
