i attempted a search, and didn't find quite the answer i need. but i may be an idiot, so here goes :)

the alternator in my 92 tsi awd mtx (6 bolt) is rattling (sounds like shitty bearings), and at idle all the lights dim considerably. i have an alternator off a 91 talon non-turbo atx sitting around from an old engine sitting in my garage. are they the same? not just in mounting (i can figure that out on my own, thank you very much ;) ) but in output as well. any differences i should anticipate working around?

thanks in advance for answers :)

someone please give some info  i am about to replace my 2g alternator and i need to know if a 1g turbo/nt will work, or a 2g non turbo alternator  im pissed about my alternator F*cking up for the past 2-3 months, and tired of having to charge my battery every night light its a freakin electric hybrid car
