I've searched and couldn't find the answer, but my buddy, who is a fellow DSMers, 95 Talon TSi FWD, heard if that "NoLeak" Engine Oil Treatment works, yet it has side effects of not working if the leak is too bad or if the gasket is completely warped.

Any ideas on this product? I was thinking about using it for a slight oil leak around the valve cover or any invisible leaks, versus getting a new gasket (which I can do), but I just wanted to get your expert opinion. Thanks, fellas! :talon:

If it stops your leaks in your valve cover what other kind of small holes could it clog? Get the gasket, its about $30-40 not at the dealer. Now if you are decent with some gasket maker do that. Thats less than $5 for a tube. Just becareful with the retightening of the bolts they will break.

Sadly, Autozone sells OEM gaskets for $49.99, but I understand about it clogging something else and if it does, then repairs maybe higher than 50 bucks, any other opinions?

$50? I just checked autozone and it was $30, thats where I got my quote from. Try using a 93 Eagle Talon. They may just be charging more because its a 95.

If it leaks replace the gasket.

I understand that, but I was just looking at options, as a new DSMer I understand to take care of my Talon. I thought maybe the since technology these days were getting high tech and formulas for certain products were being created to fix common things such as leaks and what not. ;) It just a thought.

I have no idea why it was 50 bucks, but as the sales dude was looking into it for stockage, I glanced at the screen and saw OEM, so I assume it was correct, then again you never know. :sneaky:

I understand what you’re saying; the thing is that oil is the life of the engine. (I know am not a doctor) if your arm got cut off would you take a pill to stop the bleeding? What am trying to say is why buy an oil treatment to bandage a problem when you can just fix it. I would hate to see you try it and have something else go wrong. (Turbo failure, oil jets on your cylinder walls get clogged ect.) That stuff really gums up your oil and your engine: toobad:
I could be wrong too maybe you buy it and works great!! I would never risk it!! That’s my .02

That's some good pennys, friend. :rocks: I'll remember that, anywho I'll just replace the valve cover gasket tomorrow and I will remember not to overtighten and make sure I have it torqued at the right foot pounds, 2-3. :thumb:

You know, I rechecked there website at www.goldeagle.com and I noticed in the FAQs that this product is safe to use on Gasoine Engines and Diesel Engines. If it's safe on diesel based on the turbo design, if my knowledge serves me right and please do correct if I'm wrong, would be ok on my engine. Any ideas toward my theory? I did email them about using it for my engine type, make and model including the year. So I'll see what they say too. :thumb:

WTF Why Do you wanna use this product so bad when it won't even take a hour to fix the valve cover gasket?

from the FAQ's on the web site

How long will NO-LEAK seal the leak?
This depends upon the SEVERITY of the seal deterioration and age of vehicle. The oil leak MAY be stopped for months, or even years. However, IF LEAKS DO REAPPEAR over time, simply USE ANOTHER bottle of NO-LEAK Engine Oil Stop Leak.

Does NO-LEAK always stop the leak?
USUALLY, but not always. If the leak is too severe you should have the engine repaired by a qualified service technician.

I know people that have tried it!!! it didn't work :toobad:

If you think its going to work so good!!! GO BUY IT!!

Usually, this thickens the oil which can increase friction....or maybe I dont know what Im talking about.

All I know is that the leak free oil is thick and the synthetic oil is thin....
