nock nock

so i had a nock today, first one ever...

my scannmaster 3 reads 1.7 how bad is it? what chould i do?

well it was running fine all day then it flashed when i was waiting on the turbo timer to kick off... the motor only had 8 maybe 9 k miles on it

im just kidding... sorry but i couldent help myself... 1st off its called knock. and are you sayin your logger showed knock at idle?

it flashed the 1.7 on the knock side of the scanner when the car was shut off. the turbo timer kept the car on and the 1.7 went away then the car shut off totaly and the 1.7 flashed back as it shut down but the scannmaster shows it every time its first turnning on and when it shuts off now...

I'd be more concerned if it was knocking under boost not at idle. So long as you're using high octane fuel, you shouldn't be knocking at idle. If you ARE, then you're probably never seeing boost, then you have problems. Worry about knock when you're WOT due to lean/rich conditions or timing being too far out. That's the kind of knock that can kill your engine.

i see boost just fine. but ya i will just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesnt knock when its boosting. thanks for your help...

it might not be knock at all! could be some kind of nose that the senser is picking up as knock, some sort of harmonic vibration you never know if you don't see it at wot then i wouldn't worry about just keep an eye out..
