i kept lookign at everyone pics on here and kept thinking to msyelf damn, looks liek everyone has 18 times more hoses on there car then i do...so i printed out a few pics on here and went down to the garage...my car has no vaccum hoses what so ever...everywhere that there was some vacuum hoses now has little plugs...so im guessing the previous owner removed all the emmissions stuff? do you think this coudl be the cause of my iddling problems? been having some major idle surge probs lately.

yes could possibly be check if u hear a hissing sound or if u spray carbuator cleaner u will see the rpms go up where u spray it if it has a leak

thats a big problem, your DSM as does any vehicle run off vacuum hoses, they jsut route air to sensors telling your car what to do. fix that quick ul feel a difference.

yeah, i didnt figure it was a good thing....wonder why in the hell he did this???

is there any diagrams on here that shows me where everything plugs back into at...im not kidding when i say i have none, everything is gone...besdides the BOV and one from the head...i will post a pic

There should be a sticker on the passenger side of your hood(underneath of course), that shows you were everything goes.

yeah, thats pretty much how mine is setup......whats the benefits from running this way, and the disadvantages?

Less chances for a vacuum/boost leak. Less cluttered engine bay.

odd, i was actually getting 26.7 mpg which i thought was pretty good....dont know about the knock...of course i havent really ran my car to hard since i got it...and it has been parked since i got it home till warmer weather...im going to do some homework on this issue and might recconect the stuff...especially if i find out if it is causing my idle problems

The car has all those vacuum hoses for a reason :) Sure, you can get rid of them and still have the car work OK, but you're better off with them (as long as you maintain them to avoid boost leaks, etc.). I went from 25mpg up to 28mpg after getting my EGR vaccum lines all hooked back up.
