I am having a problem getting two spark plugs to fire from Coil A. I have swapped my coils around and have confirmed that both of the coils I have are working. So I moved on to check the ICM, while I was checking the ICM to confirm it was working I noticed that I was not getting any trigger signal from the ECM to the ICM on coil A. I resistance checked the trigger wire from the ECU to the ICM and confirmed that it is does not have an open. Coil B is working is working no problem and firing both spark plugs off that coil. So what would cause no trigger signal for coil A from the ECM to ICM?

Is my ECU toast or is there a sensor that may be causing this problem?

Thanks,
Henri

The car is a 95 talon with a 97 motor in it. I had it running fine in the fall, put it away for winter and when I went to try and start it again in spring it would not fire on the two plugs.

It could be ECU. But when my coil went bad.....it was 2 cylinders that didn't get spark. And after looking up how the spark works, I discovered that it fires on 2 cylinders at once.

Yeah I would say some furry little animal took a chomp out of some wires or something in your ecu got corroded and decided it didn't want to function anymore
