no spark on cyl 4 and 1, only 2 and three...

ok so i've looked at all the other posts about this problem and most turn out to be the ptu but i've switched that out and still having the same problem. finally got my tsi running last week and have only driven it about 30 miles and it started to miss. Now it intermittently starts and when it does it misses unless the rpms are brought up. I also switched out my coil pack with another one and still have the same results. cylinders 3 and 2 have spark but cylinders 4 and 1 do not. any suggestions?

also this may or may not be related to the problem but if i crank it for more than just a few seconds the clock on my radio resets so it must cut the power to that as well? just trying to think of anything that may help.

The only thing I can suggest is the transistor pack. It should be on the intake somewhere. Don't get it confused with the resistor pack for the injectors which is on the firewall somewhere I believe. There's a way to ohm it out if I remember correctly. Search around on here for "location of transistor pack" or something of the sorts. that should help ya out a little I think

Almost sounds like a crank/cam sensor.

The problem is most likely the power transistor. Here is how you test it. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-electrical-wiring/229419-how-test-power-transistors.html If the power transistor turns out to be good then I would check the CAS.

Thanks for the help! It turned out to be a bad CAS. I switched it out with a good one and now have spark on all four cylinders again.

i remember when i had the same problem. I spent days trying to figure out what was wrong. Then finally saw that the screw on the trigger plate was unscrewed and it took out the cas.
