No spark, is it because of this combo?

I have a 95 Gst motor, in a 97 Gst shell, with a 96 Gsx coil pack, 95 Gst ecu that came with the motor and with 97 Gst wiring harness that came with the car. I'm not getting spark and we believe that since the 97-99 coil packs require 2 connectors, and the 96 Gsx coil pack is only using 1, it's not gettin the proper signal, is this true?
