1991 Eagle Talon 2.0 NT has been sitting for a couple years due to suddenly running so bad it could not be driven. Trying to get it finally going again, it would start and run but very poorly. I wanted to test and clean the fuel injectors, but it was getting late. So for now I pulled and cleaned each connector thinking maybe power to the injectors was the problem and I had never touched the injectors at all since the car was given to me. Cleaned both male and female sides, plug and injector side, that were sort of covered in blueish gunk but not horrible. Not cleaned perfect but clean enough just to test to see if if that helped at all.

Since then it will not start at all. Since then, I have I removed, tested and cleaned and reinstalled the injectors with new o rings, still won't start. Now I see there is no spark at all.

Is it possible, while cleaning the injector connectors (without disconnecting the battery because I wasn't thinking and don't do this kind of work very often) I have shorted something out? If so, most likely what could I have damaged first? I have been reading here that the camshaft sensor and ignition power transistor, are 2 main things that can keep spark from happening.

The ECU seems OK as the CEL comes on for few seconds then goes off and I have done the draining the power from ECU thing to reset it. The last thing I did before it wouldn't start anymore was clean the injector connectors. Half an hour before that it would start and run, since then no spark. Thanks!
