So when i put my cluch in it is REALLY lose. i saw a post from a long time ago and it said to replace the slave cylinder and put in a ss line. Then bleed it. i am not machanicly incline so my question is

Can i install this myself or do i need to get it professionaly done?

Thanks for any help

BIG THING! that reservoir for you master cylinder is connected to your brake fluid reservoir, (if you look in the picture below I show both now) YOU MUST fill the master cylinder reservoir with the same fluid as your break fluid or else you will get bad results! If you don't know what kind of break fluid you put in IE DOT4 and so on then take it to a shop they will redo everything and it doesn't really cost much

So you are saying that AFTER i fill up the master cylinder reservior and hopefully that fixes the cluch problem that i should take it to a shop to have them put the same fluid in both? WTF I know that it is kinda repeating your statment, but can you clearify that more? Thanks

Hes just saying if you know what brake fluid is in it, use the same in the slave as you do in the master.

WHAT? OMG

Your brake hydraulic system and clutch hydraulic system are TWO SEPARATE SYSTEMS. I don't know where you're getting your information from; probably the same person that told you a short ram intake will add a significant amount of power to a non-turbo car.

If you want to use DOT 4 in one system and DOT 3 in the other, feel free to do so. Do NOT use DOT 5 Silicone fluid in either system unless the system is flushed! DOT 3 and 4 are compatible with each other, DOT 5 is a completely different fluid.

after you top it off and bleed it make sure to look for leaks in either the line or at the slave itself....chances are the slave went bad causing all the fluid to leak out.

If thats true, then fluid would be visible somewhere. I know on my n/t when it went out it was all on the inside by the clutch pedal and in the carpet. Even left a nasty stain on my shoes:notgood:

if the master went than yes.....the slave is independant from the master and is located on the front of the tranny....if its leaking itll be on the ground near the tranny

by pumping it you are gonna make tons of micro bubbles of air in the line which will be a pain in the ass to bleed out. my car is low and i was able to bleed it from underneath without a jack or lift. make sure the resovoir is full and crack the bleeder....its easy if you connect a tube to it and submerse it into more fluid....crack it untill you see no more air bubbles

im not sure about on a 2g but on my 1g its on the front lower side of the tranny. just trace the line that goes from that resovoir and itll lead right to the slave. itll have a bleeder screw on it just like your brakes....just back it out a little bit to let it bleed

yes they are are separate systems but if you look at the brake reservoir there is a line that feeds directly to the master cylinder reservoir. It supplies fluid for the clutch when it reads that it is getting low. So yes you need to have the same fluid for both reservoirs.

Sorry bud, I changed two clutch master cylinders last month- one on a '95 TSi AWD, one on a '97 Eclipse GS...neither had a line going between the clutch and brake systems in any way.

The GS is actually my daily driver....I'd be glad to upload pics if you need proof.

hm thats really weird because I just changed the master cylinder fluid on mine and there is a line running from my brake reservoir to my master cylinder reservoir and i didnt know what it was so i went on here and asked and thats what I was told.

Sorry for the bad info! my bad.... :(

Link us to the thread of you asking that question so we can make fun of whoever told you there was such a line.

He's probly talking about the acutal clutch line into the master. i looked real quick and it comes off the master and 90's down by the brake master and it goes underneath but real quick looking he probly assumed it went into it. I know it doesnt attach becuase i just installed a ss master to slave line. :thumb:

You should have to fill the reservoir twice (possibly 3 times) to ensure the system is completely full.

I've always gravity-bled my clutch systems with excellent results.....mostly because I'm a one-man operation.

well i know you guys said not to just fill it and drive, but i had to to drive it to a budies house for a lift so then i can bleed it. But i did fill it and the cluch now has pressure and i can shift into gear. i have not driven it yet, but i will tomorow. I will also update tomorow after i bleed it.

i just took i for a little spin in my aprt. complex and it shifted excellent, but there is a squiking noise when i push the pedal in. WTF What could that be?

Thanks for any help.

by the way since my car has been down i had to drive my moms accord :notgood: i miss my turbo so much  LOL
