('91 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD) What brought on me finding out about this problem before it completly died was I would be driving and the car and it would just shut off while driving it down the road. All the electical stuff i.e. radio, locks, and windows would still work.
The problem was there was no spark to the spark plugs and the car would not start up again. So about a day later i tried to start the car and it would start and run for a day or two and then it would shut off again while driving it down the road. About a day later I tried starting the car again and it started up but shut off almost immediatly after a couple seconds while it was in park this time. And now it won't start again and it has been more that four days since it completly died.
My problem is the code 23 is being thrown for the Cam/Crankshaft position Sensor is bad. However when I test the actual electric connector as shown in my Haynes manuel the volt meter is not reading any power out of any of the terminals. So from there i checked the grounds and they seem to be fine i even spliced the ground wire on the connector and grounded it to the fire wall and found there was still no power to the connector.
My question is how to find what might be causing the lack of power to the connector. Because my power windows, lockes, wipers, radio, and dash lights all work. The car just won't turn over because there is no power to the Cam/Crankshaft position Sensor. Also i read if the computer in the car was bad then it would not throw a signal out at all, but it is saying that the sensor is bad. If anyone has any ideas on what it might be please let me know!
