I am having a huge problem with my car. First of all i have idle surge but i found out that it is because of a missing bisss screw i have one on the way but im also having a problem with the car feeling like its missing and has no power when i say no power i mean it feels like im driving a ford festiva. the boost goes up to 7 on the gauge and ive checked all of the lines off the turbo.i have also done a compression check and every thing came back above150psi. what could it be? a vacuum leak, timing off, or maybe a broken flux capacitor. im stumped but the car has no power and goes through gas like crazy. i filled up the other day and after 30 miles i was down to 3/4 a tank? HELP :talon:

The biss screw completly missing can cause the car to run really bad/weak, that is a bad boost leak. That should be the problem, if not, check for othet boost leaks, boost leaks are the most common problem for turbo cars not having power.

Build a boost leak tester if you do not have one....

Well i know that it has been a while since i have wrote but i replaced the biss screw and it didnt help. The car finally idles fine but still there is no power and i did the leak check on the turbo but no luck. I tried timing the car after i got it to idle steady but its still missing. I can tell this because the timing light isnt consistent and at times the car will shudder slightly. Could it be that the turbo has too much play and isnt able to spool up enough to get much boost? Please help i havn't had the car a month and ive replaced almost everything on it. The other day i went on a 5 hour trip and when i got where i was going my radiator literally BLEW up. And it was in about the only state without a radiator Nebraska. :talon:

Check your spark plugs.
Check your spark plug wires.
Check your coilpack.
Check your power transistor.

Those four are the easiest if your timing light is erratic... means no spark is getting through that wire, occasionally. Once your timing light is stable, check your timing.
Have you built a boost leak tester yet? Did you do a boost leak test? If air is escaping (or entering with a vac leak), that'd screw with the mixture enough to cause misfires.

Just making sure, you ARE recirculating your stock BOV, right? The stock 1G BOV is actually a CBV (compressor bypass valve), and is open under vacuum, such as at idle. If it's not recirculated, it'd be sucking in unmetered (and unfiltered!) air, which would also screw your air/fuel mixture badly.

Failing all that, check your CAS (cam angle sensor). Mine went bad and was causing misfires and other unpleasantness.

Well i know its been along time but thought everyone would like to know. I took my car to a shop and the guy there said i had an injector hanging up. so i bought new ones and replaced them the car ran fine for about three days then went back to its old ways. after cleaning them about five times and having it run good for a few days each time i found out the car had sat with very little gas in it for 3 years and got rust in the gas tank.

Well I would say it's time to pull the tank and have it boiled out or better yet replace it. Also change the fuel pump tank screen and the fuel filter on the firewall. I just bought one at Autozone this afternoon P/N FF711 I think it was around $15.

Good luck.
