no oil to sending unit..

ive installed this new sbr 50 trim on my car, and i pulled the mpi (engine) fuse. crank it and no oil is going to the oil supply line.. i drained the oil, filled it,and had a dead battery while trying this(jumpstart).... do you think i just havnt given it enough crank's for the oil pump, to pump it the housing and so on..or it doesn't have enough power to supply it. thank's blaise..
 
Just hold the fins of the turbo with the handles (the soft rubbery part) of a pair of pliers while you start the car. I am pretty sure that you need to be actually running before you see any significant oil movement through the engine.
 
Pull the plugs out while spinning the engine. It will spin faster and wont kill the battery because there is no load or compression for the starter to overcome.

The oil feed shouldnt be run off of the oil pressure sending unit port. Oil from there is unfiltered and thats not a great idea. On a 2g, you should run the feed as shown in the picture below.

That is also a very good idea. And will work if you are using a stock MAF.
 
alright.. i tryed pulling the plug's and cranking it, and got nothing, what other reason's would i not be getting oil.. i have it hooked up like in the picture..i think im just gonna buy a new battery..and if that doesn't work maybe a new front case? im annoyed..
 
when i put a new turbo on i prime it and then fire the motor for about 5seconds and check to make sure theres oil pressure ive tried to crank the motor without starting before to build oil but it didnt work so i just prime fire and check
 
i still havn't fixed my problem.. i was thinking its it possible for an oil filter to not let oil through... i also read a couple thread's back that people had to get like some hand oil evacuator pump thing.. would that help and were can i get it?.... i tried to see if you could siphon some oil out. but it was like sucking on an empty straw..if anyone has any suggestion's let me know.. i can't prime it for some reason..
 
I was having the same problem this weekend during my turbo install. I also made sure there was no spark and fuel. Then cranked for about 10 secs then let it sit for a minute. I did that for about 10 minutes and got tired of it. Screwed off the oil filter and it was still didn't have oil. So my solution was tearing apart the timing side and spin the oil pump with my cordless drill. That worked perfect it did take roughly 3 minutes for me to get oil to come out the turbo supply line. Screwed the line back to the turbo spun the pump some more. Put back the timing side and started the car. I don't know if you want to go that route but thats what helped me.
 
do you have to take off the timing belt to do that??? i would assume you have too. Is there some way to pump oil through it to get pressure?

Yea, you would have to take the belt off. I was doing a timing belt change at the time. So it was a little easier for me. Other than cranking it like you were earlier. I have no idea to help you out. Good luck.
 
solved my problem. if anyone ever encounters this... pick up a hand held fluid pump form a auto store suck up some fresh oil and inject it into the place were your oil supply line goes. it pressurized the system and worked like a charm...
