Looking for some Ideas as to what would make a 91 turbo not have injector pulse when cranking. try it a couple times then all of a sudden has pulse starts. Friend called me today asking if I knew but have never ran into it. Have heard they're bad about ecu do you think that could be it? Any suggestions appreciated.

The only thing that control power to the injectors is the ECU. no injectors usually means no ECU.

1. do you have any check engine lights come on?

2. how old is the car? anything older than 10 years i would have the caps replaced as they WILL leak. take the ECU out and have a look and the board. look for any corrosion or yellow "stuff" around the middle of it.

3. does the ECU smell like bad fish?

4. if the car is a turbo car, it will have a reistor between the ECU and the injectors as the turbo models have high impedence injectors. the resistors are usually very reliable but its always good to check. (its the ceramic block wrapped in metal bolted to the firewall on the passenger side.)

5. if the injectors are functioning randomly, i would also think to check your sensors. like your CAS-(crank angle sensor), coolant temp sensor for the ECU-its on the bottom half of the thermostat housing and its the 2-prong probe. the other one beside it is for your temp guage. these are things that i have heard that have caused "no starts" from my friends and from postings on here.

6.do you know that its your injectors? did you test with noid lights?

let us know how it goes. and for future reference, please describe the year, model, and engine type so we can help diagnose accordingly.

Jason.
