no idea what + wires are for

I have two white wires that are cut off that are supposed to be connected to the Positive terminal on the battery. They were cut off when i purchased the car. I can not seem to figure out what they are for. My friend has a 97 Spyder and his has four white wires connected to the positive on the battery the only difference between our cars is that his is a manual transmission. so my question is what are these wires for and should i reconnect them to the battery?

They come from your fuse box. I believe 2 of the wires are for the alternator and I'm not sure what the other 2 are for. But all 4 should be connected.
