So I was doing a pull and all miss shifted (noob mistake happens) from 3rd to 2nd (reacted fast and put it in neutral). Gave it a little gas and noticed it was missing pretty bad so we found a spot to pull over and check to see if anything had happened under hood.

We saw this wire green wire just hanging out, we pulled some electrical tape near by and found a what looks like someone spliced. Problem is I need yall's help to let me know what it is and any reason someone would splice into this (car used to have a afc on it... could it be for that).

We did pull the spark plug wires and found cylinder 2 didn't change at all. Wire was still getting spark, pulled the plug and it was extremely wet. Changed the plug for a new one and it helped a tiny bit but still sounds like a horrible miss. Pulled the injector pig tails and a change in rpm on all cylinders though #2 seems to take a bit longer to change when pulled.

Sorry for the novel... here are the pics.

looks like it was splice for tuner of some sort did you remove the afc already and if not does it work properly

Looks like it was spliced for either a RPM light or some tachometer based device. If you don't need any of that I would just restore the original wire that may have got loose causing two of the spark plugs not to fire (the work in couples), keep in mind that cable goes to the power transistor.

The car already had dsmlink v3, no afc tuner was in the car. Found out it used to have one with a previous owner. Thanks for the heads up, I just got another wiring harness so I will just replace the whole thing. Did a compression test and found 1-149psi, 2- 85psi, 3- 151psi, 4- 147psi. Time to tear it apart and have a bit of fun.
