I've been googling and searching the forums but haven't found an answer. I've got a 93 tsi and I keep leaving my lights on. I start my drives when it's still dark out, and finish them in well lit areas and don't notice my lights. There is no warning tone, but there is one when I leave the key in. Also, the automatic seat belts move when I open the door.

Is this door switches? Is there any way i can fix this? I'm currently missing a class because my battery is dead.

Thanks.

Shut the lights off when you shut the car off.The auto seat belts are supposed to move when door is opened and closed.I've had a dead battery lots of times cause I left the lights on.

There is a way you can mod the lights to shut off when the key comes out but I forgot how.

LOL, well of course I'd love to always remember to get the lights with they key, but as of now, I'm not and it's beginning to be an issue. I'd love to find more information about the key mod, I'll google it.

Also, I mentioned the seatbelts because wouldn't those be triggered with the door switches? My dome light also doesn't come on automatically.

Just out of curiosity, how old are you?
I learned this lesson the hard way when I hadn't had my license for long. Something like 17 jumps in a 1 year period.

And then I stopped being dumb.

Maybe this could work for you? :D

Seriously though, after today - by the sounds of it, you'll likely not be forgetting again.

Keep a well charged jump pack with you. And make a mental check list of what to check before you get out of the car, and do it every time.

Over the years i have come to check, lights, keys, phone, wallet, windows, locks before i shut the door. It's automatic now and i dont even think about it.

You could also maybe see if you can mod in a light sensor to automatically turn them on and off like most newer cars do, don't think it would be too hard.

I'm 20. If the solution is to just stop forgetting, that's fine. But I know myself and I would benefit from having the car work the way it was designed. Didn't know how to fix it and thought someone might have something more helpful than, "don't forget anymore lulz".

whenever you shut the car off just check and make sure the headlights are off, all it takes is twisting a little knob maybe 4 inches from the wheel LOL.
