No Crankwalk In N/t?????

I have heard a lot of horror stories about crankwalk in dsm's that have scared the crap out of me. As most probably have but I recently talked to a "knowledgable" person about dsm's and he said that the crank walk only plagues the Turbo DSM's and the engines that were built by Mitsu. He said that the chrysler engine doesnt have the problem??? Is this true??
 
im not an expert on the subject but from my understanding you are correct to an extent. all engines can be victims of crankwalk but the likely hood of a n/a getting it is slim to none now turbo charging and forcing more pressure on the engine primarily the bearing and crank could cause it after extensive use and high boost pressure. even though the 4g63 has crankwalk issues if you where to purchase a 1g 6 bolt and rebuild it top to bottom you would have an engine that would perform imaculently. 420a's are reliable and just that they werent really designed to be a cheap engine to buil tourque and hp. but to answer your question its not impossible but not likely to happen either.
 
thanks man thats good news! I was worried there for a minute that all DSM's are going to have there crank shaft blow the bearing out through my engine like a cannon
 
Still, if I had a ton of money to invest in rebuilding a 2G 7 bolt motor into a race engine , i'd opt out for just buying a 6 bolt block , building that up and swapping it in instead, just for peace of mind imo.
