Just wondering how much the no lift to shift feature will actually bennifit me come track day? I know its pretty hard on the trans and drivetrain but i do have a shep tranny and act2600 so i think i should be ok there. Never really seen any comparisons of using it vs not using. Just kinda curious if i should go balls out and use it sense i never have before in fear of breaking somthing, or just shift normally. Any input on this feature and if it shaves a couple tenths off or somthing would be awsome. Thanks -Ryan

The NLTS feature in dsmlink is actually a little easier on the transmission than you would think. Instead of you shifting normally (letting off the gas and then getting back on it, which kind of "shocks" the tranny), the NLTS keeps everything moving which makes it a much more smooth transition from gear to gear. You'd know what I'm talking about if you've ever used it and felt the difference. However, I believe it probably does do more damage to the clutch disk because it is having to grab back on to the flywheel while you're still spooled up and revving. A clutch disk is much cheaper to replace than a transmission though, that's for damn sure ;)

I think the NLTS feature will show different results on the track depending mostly on the size of the turbo you're using. A larger turbo will see much more benefit from the NLTS feature because it will stayed spooled between your shifts. I remember seeing reports on the dsmlink forums of 2+ mph gained in the 1/4 using NLTS, but once again it all depends on the size of the turbo in the car.

I would definitely recommend using the NLTS feature in dsmlink at the track! It is a bit akward and scary at first trying to keep your foot on the gas and shift too, but it is not near as bad as you think. Give it a shot!

thanks for the great advice! I actually have the feature on my keydriver chip not dsmlink but works the same for the most part. I think i will make a couple runs with using it and a couple without. Right now im only running a small 16G so it obviously doesnt have any trouble spooling but still may help me out.

I had a chance to ride with Keydiver. My car is a little more modded than his (Still I only have sm16g)

He really has his NLTS down and his car 'seemed' much faster than mine. I know it was all in the shifting. I've done about 6 practice runs using NLTS and it does take some getting used to.

After driving all the time and lifting, I have to really try and not lift when racing. Everything is so so automatic, I usually lift off even though I wasn't going to.

Helps me by a thenth or two when I force my self to use it. If I dont use it, I usually have to respool a little bit in 2nd gear.
