Anyone else running these tires? I've got a set of 205/55/16 on my swirlies. First snow tires I've ever bought. They feel like I'm driving on jello. I expected some of that on snow tires but I'd like to hear from someone else who can compare experience with these and other brands of snow tires. :thumb:

Back in the day, before I was an AWD family, I would switch from Winterforces to some brand of crappy summer tire, and each time I did, it seemed like something either went terribly wrong or terribly right, depending on which tire was being installed! Always came as a shock, at first.OMG

Dedicated snow tires tend to kinda suck without snow.

I'll vouch for that. I switched from 225-40-18 summer Toyos to 225-45-17 Blizzak WS-50s and damn...it feels like I'm driving on bubble gum at high speeds, heavy braking/cornering. When the temps drop below freezing they get a bit better, but with Michigan weather its hard to predict. So far I've driven on them once in the ice and I didn't even know it was icey until I got out of my car and almost slipped. Winter tires are great...but only in the winter.

Just thought I'd post an update on this since I've gotten to play in the snow now.

These tires rock my world. :thumb:

And they stop it even on hard packed snow. I'm very pleased with these tires. They grip amazingly well in snow. Loose or packed I can almost brake like I'm in the dry. My wife has a different set of cheap-o snow tires on her 2k VW Beetle and they do not compare.

I went out to go play in some new snow with my room mate and stopped dead in over a foot of loose powder to let a guy by. I started moving again with no trouble at all and spun some awesome donuts. :thumb: (Don't worry, it was in a campground. Besides one cross-country skier the place was deserted.) I would definitely say pick a set of these up if you get a good deal. I got mine from Discount Tire Direct. :thumb:

Oh, and now that I am used to them, the dry handling is fine. I was just scared as hell when I first put them on after running 245/45-17 Ecsta ASX tires.
