hey,
just outta curiousity, if i was to run a zex or nx wet shot with the 55 shot injectors what kind of times would that run and how often could i use it without blowin my motor up. I got a CAI, Apexi n1 and a af/x udp on its way. Would i need any other supporting mods. thanks for the help and sorry for bench racin.

If youre only going to run 55, get a dry kit. You can use that small of a shot of n2o all you want without blowing the motor, if you use it correctly (dont spray until above 3.5k rpms, dont redline, etc). About the times, youll have to run it and see.

why a dry kit, i heard a wet kit would be easier on the motor. I see that you have n2o, have you ran the quartermile yet? what kind of supporting mods would i need or is what i have fine?

A dry kit is sufficient for a 35-55 shot. The Zex wet kit (which I have) makes it safer to run higher amounts than that by mixing in fuel with the nitrous, preventing a sudden lean condition when you spray. If you think you may someday want to go bigger than 55, then by all means, get the wet kit. I love mine. I havent had a chance to track test it, but I would like to. The closest 1/8 mile track is 45 minutes from here, and the closest 1/4 is 2 hrs, so I have to make a whole day out of it basically. I plan to run at least twice, once without the spray, and one with, so that I can see how much time I pick up. Im just as curious as you are. :D

Get the wet kit just as you want to do, then you don't have to buy anything else later on even if you go turbo. Nitrous will not blow up your motor, missuse will. You will have no problems with it at all. You can spray under 3500rpm just don't do it in any gear other than 1st becuase the load is so light, it's not a problem. You spray under 3500rpm in 5th thats gonna be a problem. Also hitting redline is also no big deal, even on an ECU with fuel cut rev limiting it will not blow up the motor if you hit it while spraying, I have done it 10,000 times on both fuel and spark cut motors on shots twice the size of what your running and it's not a factor.

Hell I did a burn out in 1st gear, then switching to second in my VR6 with a 125hp direct port shot at the track. I noticed the motor sounded different and didn't realize I was doing my burnout with nitrous until after I was done LOL. I just held it off the revlimiter while I warmed up my slicks too. Did a whole lot of nada to the engine which I don't think I would have tried knowingly.

.5 is pretty good. So if i was to run a 75 shot in my 2g, with a UDP, CAI and full N1 i could quite possibly be running stock turbo times or just over? thats not bad, but a 75 shot worries me no matter how many times people tell me its ok.how often can it be used???

My dad's maxima goes from 13.5 NA to 12.9 on a 35hp shot, thats the 2003 with the 3.5L motor 265hp stock. His old 95 Maxima with the regular 3.0L 190hp motor did 14.6 N/A and with a 35hp shot he ran 13.1 believe it or not. He shaved 1.5 seconds off with a 35hp shot. This is on an NX wet kit which is known to make power. This is no BS either, I was there saw the jets, saw the slips, video taped it etc etc.. It's my dad for god sakes I know whats goin on and it did the times with that small shot.

How much time it shaves off is upto you. If you run slicks and turn it on right out of the box then you will shave off close to a full second if not more. If your running street tires and you turn it on once you shift to second your going to take a lot less off.

Dont worry about turning it on right away in 1st gear, thats no a problem. My pops car is automatic and he comes off the line at 1000rpm with instant nitrous. I know it says not to spray unill 3000rpm but remember thats for dumb people who will try to spray at low RPM in a higher gear. In 1st gear you can spray where ever you want, I have proven that in many cars. It's all has to do with the motors ability to rev up. If your in 5th at 2000rpm the ability to rev up quickly is not there. So they say a blanket 3000rpm because it's easier. I woudl say 3rd gear on that's very true, even second it's sorta true but depends on your setup, 1st gear you can spray anywhere you want as long as your at WOT.

Set it up goto the track and you should be able to tell us how it goes. What I did with my VR6 was launch the car and as soon as the car was out of the box say 5ft out I would hit the spray right away in first gear. I was able to go from a 14.2 N/A to a 13.1 on a 50hp shot. My direct port 125hp shot was mid 12's. The faster you go the more it takes to get faster.
