Nitrous Staging Turbo?

Anybody hear or use Nitrous to Pre-Spool turbo at the track? I heard about this then read a few articles but wanted to get your opinions. If I understand correctly when you are at the tree you hit your nitrous which is hooked up to the hot side of the turbo. The pressure from the nitrous spools the turbine creating boost. When the light drops to green you are pre-boosted and off you go. Any feedback on this? Is it just a legend?

Really only need it if you have a big turbo

It doesnt sound like a good idea. Just off the top of my head youd have to plumb the jet in the perfect spot to get the turbine spinning properly, the change in temp would be very drastic and im not sure the turbo would like tha, and having NOS you can get the same effect with 2 step or anti-lag off the line. Really sounds pointless

It is widely used in drag racing. Big turbos will take a year to spool on the line with 2step/anti lag. that's why they spray them.....

Pretty common. Zex actually makes a nitrous kit specifically for spooling turbos on the line

Could you use something other than Nitrous? Compressed argon or something?

Use a 50 shot wet kit by the TB or use Anti Lag.

Lol @ dude injecting nitrous near the turbine?? Nitrous is injected in the intake manifold runners or before the TB... We used a 70 shot to spool a 6466.

Unless you're auto, there's no reason to use anything but the 2-step on the line.

70 shot!?! On that little guy!? And better recheck what I said cuz I never said where smarty.....I don't get into detail on this site cuz it's like talking to a wall... But yes Nitrous is used to spool turbos
