i am considering getting the NX efi system for my 95 gs and i want to make sure that the kit comes with all i will need?? also what else would you guys recommend for things needed?? a/f gauge or anything else?? thanks , i just wanna keep my motor safe. :dsm:

colder plugs, and a good stable healthy engine. higher octane gas as well, 92.

should i use platinum plugs and also do i need a a/f gauge??? if you guys can think of anything else let me know. thanks. :dsm:

No DO NOT use platinum plugs. just use some cheap copper core plugs, Nitrous will eat through plugs every 3-4 bottles. I don't remember the exact reason why you cant you Platinum plugs with nitrous but its something like the fact the Platinum burns to hot and cause detonation.

thanks for the info on the plugs!!! anytin else guys, as far as gauges or anything?? :dsm:

Everything everybody has told you so far is bang on. Follow the advice of your fellow tuners and you will have no problems running that kit.

And Air/Fuel gauge is almost useless I wouldn't really bother with it myself. Just run regular copper plugs one range colder than stock and change them every 3-4 bottles. Don't over do it by tring to run a 150hp shot on your car, or doing anything else stupid.

Double check all your connections and follow the instructions exactly. Remember to open the bottle before you spray the first time and start with the 35hp shot. Other then that you should be good to go.

Oh yeah one more thing, if you hear a huge bang let off the gas. J/K...

i thought you need to keep your a/f settings correct when using nos.....

if i get too lean its bad....
same if i get too rich......

this is something i heard........

thanks for everything guys..... :dsm:

When you use a wet kit, the guage will show that you are rich as hell, this is becasue there is more fuel injected with the nitrous, throwing the reading off.

Yes that is correct however an Air/Fuel gauge will not tell you anything.

An air fuel gauge works off a stock O2 sensor which has a 0-1V range. Your Air fuel ratio gauge works from the same range. Over the course of 100 different variables for rich - stoich - lean (from .01 to 1.00 or so give or take) the air fuel gauge will light up about 20 different LED's.

This means that the richest most light will light up anything from .88V to 1.00v. If you have ever tuned a car with a pocket logger you will notice that .88v is about 12.5:1 air fuel ratio on a 2G and 1.00 V is about 10.5:1 air fuel ratio. So it doesn't matter if your at 10.5:1 or 12.5:1 it's going to light up the same led on the gauge. 10:5:1 is way to rich and 12.5:1 is too lean. 12.5:1 will not blow up your motor but is getting close and is way to lean for nitrous shot. You really want to be at 11.5:1 so how can you tell what your air fuel is on the gauge? You cant, thats the problem beause it's lighting up the same led for it all. The next problem is one light leaner is still well within the rich band but way to lean for nitrous, again you would never be able to tell that looking at a gauge that is showing you Green for GO!!!.

Here is the next problem, the reading on a stock O2 sensor changes with age. So what was once rich when you first installed the gauge could later be richer or leaner depending on how your O2 sensor goes. So the readings your getting will change constantly as the sensor ages then you get a new one.

Basically what I'm saying with all this blabbering is that the gauge is totally useless and is nothing more than a blinky light show. It will give you some idea if it's getting terribly lean but holes melted into the dome of your pistons will tell you that too, and both will show up at about the same time to let you know "hey there's a problem here..."

Buy an inverter and hook this up, it will tell you pretty well the same info an air/fuel gauge does...
DSMJim's new Air Fuel Ratio Gauge. The MOST PIMP EVER!!!!

when you're spraying, you want to be slammed way into the green, as rich as possible. same when you hit WOT without the n2o, as far into the green as possible. if you really want it, get yourself one of those autometer a/f gauges....and do nothing with it but set it up. DO NOT tune with it. i wouldn't even use it as a reference, even though i just just like to keep my eye on it. if i spray and it flies into the red, then obviously something is wrong, and i'd like to have as many flags go up as possible, besides for the engine exploding. get a wideband o2 sensor if you want to see accurate a/f readings. also get ready to open your wallet.

Hello. I was Referred to you DSMJim from a buddy on NICO Forums that you are the Nitrous Guru. I was wondering if you could help me with my N2O setup on ny 240sx. I need sum advice. Could you please email me at [email protected] so that I could talk to you about it?? Thanx
