Nissan T28 Cartridge in 2G T25 housing?

I have tried searching on this and only found information on people wondering if a Nissan T28 will fit on a DSM, which it obviously will not. My question is, could the center cartridge fit into the T25 from a stock 2G? I know all of the "cheap solutions" have been researched and more people would probably do it with the availability of T28's from Nissan's floating around like 14b's in the DSM world. This would probably take some porting of the compressor and turbine housing, but would it require anything else?

I understand this is probably not the same as a Big T28, but can't find information on the different sizes of T28's. The VFAQ only has the "standard" T28 sizes and no information on the Big T28 and, searching Nissan forums, I can't find information on the Nissan T28. If anyone could answer my question, it would be of a great help. Once I replace the T25, I wouldn't mind experimenting with this, but figured some one else out there has HAD to have tried this by now. Any help on this or the actual differences in sizes of T28's and what exact compressor/turbine wheels the different combinations of T28 and T25 use would be helpful, Garrett only has their new stuff listed on the website. Thanks for the help in advance.

85% of all SR20DET Engines came with T25 turbo's and 370cc injectors. Only late model Black tops came with the T28 so I don't think that they are nearly as readily available as 14B's. If you want a low cost replacement turbo for your T25, look for a used 16G.

Please note that I am looking for a cheap replacement for my T25, I was just curious about T28's from Nissan's and a possible expirement. I've been seeing alot for sale on eBay. Thanks for the info, though. I know nothing of Nissan's turbos and don't feel like spending a day reading their forums quite yet...
 
The short answer is yes. This is an old thread but a good one. The garrett CHRA will fit onto the dsm housings but the hotside will require some porting. I suggest using the compressor housing that comes on the nissan and finding piping that will accomidate you intercooler setup but, the dsm stuff WILL fit on there.
 
Good to know, i gotta offer on a R33 GTR T28 turbo and wanted to know if i could change the hotside out to fit my dsm.
