I have a 92 talon tsi motor is toast but i have a 4g63 non turbo motor out of another eclipse could i just transfer my turbo setup on to it or is there a big diffrence internal wise sorry like i said new to this world but lovin it!

yes they are quite different, compression is not even near the same, and the n/t pistons are not strong enough to handle a turbo (the ring seats are alot weaker if im not mistaken).
you could toss it in there and limp your car around if you need to get to work or something until you can replace the turbo bottom end, but even at stock boost the n/t bottom end isnt going to last long if you do any kind of spirited driving.

what is wrong with your motor? I wouldn't recommend using the non turbo block but it can be done if needed to be. Mattsi is right the non turbo block will have higher compression (9:1 vs 7.8:1) also no oil squirters and no knock sensor but their is a spot for one. Then the head itself is also different. If it was me I wouldn't do it. I'd just rebuild the turbo motor.

Compression test the engine and leakdown test it if the results come back bad from the compression test.

An N/T Block has different pistons (wouldn't push them past 7-8psi of boost), no oil squirters for the pistons, and no threaded hole for the knock sensor if I remember right.

Check the forums on here to find a post on how to make a boost leak tester or

do a quick Google search. It looks real easy to make tho from what i gather.

from the one i have its fairly easy all you need is a pvc end cap a coupler a t fitting a air chuk hookup and a gauge and of course hose clamps

With your minor description I would say it is most likely to be something minor. Like other people have suggested do some checks. They are simple If it came down to it rebuilding your engine would be cheaper and much better than trying to chance a N/T motor in there.

How do you leak check it?

If you think the engine is toast, a boost leak test won't tell you squat.

There's a simple way to leadown test an engine. If the numbers are all over the place or low from your compression test, then the air is going somewhere... on a 92 Talon, compression should be about 145-150 on each cylinder.

To do the redneck leakdown test, make sure the cylinder you're testing is at Top Dead Center. Now use some needle nose pliers and unscrew the valve from the compression tester line and thread it into the spark plug hole. Now take an air compressor and connect the other end of the compression tester hose to the hose coming off of the air compressor. Then listen and feel for where the air is going. If you pull off the oil cap or the hose on the passenger side of the valve cover and you hear the air coming through or feel it, bad rings or bad piston. Disconnect your intercooler piping at the throttle body elbow. If air is coming out of the elbow, bad intake valves. Or you can go to the tailpipe of your car and listen for air coming out or feel for air coming out. If there's air coming out, bad exhaust valves.

I ran a N/T motor on 12lbs boost for over a year and a half until the TB tensioner pulley let go and it jumped time. Ran like a champ, never had an issue. Just keep 93 octane in it for the higher compression ratio, and keep the boost stock. You might consider getting a knock sensor installed.

Is your BOV recirculated? I would definitely do a boost leak test before writing the motor off.

I doubt having a bov vented to atmosphere will make it that bad, but I would also recommend a boost leak test before just assuming the motor is bad.

Bogging and being doggy isnt usually first sign of a junk motor but pretty safe bet theres a tuning issue.

If it is leaking, it will cause issues if it is vented.

I agree. Non Turbo engines can wear out sooner if turbo'ed Also there are different sensors that my not match up to connections that one engine has the the other one might not have.

Hope that with luck and good engineering skills anything can happen.
