I have a question. How should I clean a intake. Should I buy the special cleaner from aem? And how often should you clean the inktake. Thanks :dsm:

It's a good idea to clean the filter according to manufacturers instructions. That way you do not damage the filter element. I'm not familiar with AEM cleaning, I use K&N, and I know that if you don't pay attention to what you're doing, you'll ruin your filter.

I used to own an AEM intake. They use K&N filters for their products. You should purchase the AEM cleaner kit. The instructions are pretty straight forward. Just remember one thing- when cleaning, spray water from the inside out NEVER spray the outside of the filter-you'll just bury the dirt even deeper into the filter. Also, when you re-oil the filter, don't drown in in oil, it can hinder the air flow efficiency.
