Newb That Has A 1g Lined Up

Hello all my name is Frankie and i live down in Surprise, Arizona. I own a 98 tiburon fx and am really tired of going nowhere fast. Yeah the car is dependable but i want a little more power so i have recently been looking at a friends 1g Talon Tsi AWD. He just had the motor and tranny replaced and the body has 94,000 miles on it. He wants 5g's for it. So i am considering this car very carefully. Any major problems that i should know about the 1st gens? I have done a little research but i think that you guys and girls will be able to help me because you are ownerz. Thanks any help would be awesome.

I just wouldn't pay $5000 for it, definetly not worth it. Hell I got my 2g for $3950 with just 9,000 more miles. That of course is just my opinion it's your money. But definetly get it checked out, even if he's your friend you don't wanna get stuck with it when something magically breaks.

Yeah you are right. I am willing to wait in order to get a better deal. All i know it that i will own myself a DSM AWD T by the time it is all set and done. Stock it will be a big step up from the tibby. I know my spending limit is gonna be around $5,000. So you think this is gonna be enough money to get myself a T AWD beast from someone else? Like you said tho i don't want something that just so happens to break down once i get it home.
