Newb Question.....Somehow I should know..but I don't.

I was messing around in the Tech Archives and ran across KPT321's "proper MBC install"

I have been messing with DSM's for 4 yrs now and I have always hooked up the MBC directly to the turbo/wastegate. I know now why my boost is not rock solid all the time...it actually makes sense.

I understood how he described hooking a MBC up...but what do I do about the Compressor Outlet nipple that I have been using as a source, for 4 yrs?

Should I just cap it and put a clamp on the cap?

I'd hate to hook it up like he says and have a HUGE boost leak from that nipple.

Anyone?

Put a small piece of vaccume hose on it, put a screw in the open end, and ziptie both ends.

thats what I was thinking.

I'll have to try that.....the 18 psi I am running won't blow it off?

I need a plug that fits the compressor where the nipple goes.

As long as it's ziptied then it will be fine. If you have slack in your boost controller line just cut a small piece off of that.

uh... yeah. Better to use a nail.

Or, do it right and use a vacuum cap. Packs of a dozen are $2 anywhere. And use the ziptie on it.
