New Worlds Quickest AWD 2G - 8.62!! Traps 170 mph!!!

After making some changes to the car in the past week, I finally got the 8.6 pass that I have been looking for. I went to the track this past Saturday (10-22) and ran a personal best of 8.62 @ 168 mph, and then backed it up with a 8.70 @ 170 mph. I know that makes the Red Demon the Quickest AWD 2G, but I believe the 170 mph trap speed also makes it the fastest.

All year I've been running a Evo 3 final drive, which has a ratio of 3.909. With this gear ratio I was reeving the car to almost 9900 to go through the traps in 4th gear. I decided to try out the stock DSM gear ratio which is 3.545, to try and bring my revs down in 4th gear. Using the DSM final of 3.545 I only rev the car to around 9K and have trapped in the 170's. It just feels a lot easier on the car. First gear also feels a lot smother now that it is a little longer. I also changed from E98 back to E85. I mixed the E98 with 100 oct unleaded to give me a E85ish blend, I did this because I was running out of fuel above 41-42 psi on E98. The 8.62 pass and the 170 mph trap speed was seen at 44 psi on the FP3794. I may bring the car out one last time before the year is up. I'll keep you guys posted.

For next year I plan on:
-Installing a 3000gt rear end
-Make a tubular front core support and crossmember
-Custom dash/gauges
-Add to the chromoly cage

Thanks everyone for support! This car is truely a breast of its own. After making a few changes on the car since the Ohio Shootout, i can say that over the last 3 or 4 trips to the track with the car, we have been able to shave a tenth of a second each time off our ET and adding 2-4 mph also. Next years additions to the set up should not only make the car stronger in the drivetrain (, gotta get them 60fts down lower and 1/8th times faster), but also a bit lighter and safer for Devin.

Any info on the Dyno numbers of the 3794? i'm buying one for next season.

I thought you guys would like to see the FP3586 vs. FP3794. These pulls were done at 42psi, with the same timing values. The only change to the car and set up was only the turbo. As you can see, over 7K this new turbo screams. Considering I'm never below 7200 during a pass, this turbo is perfect for my setup!!
