new turbo?

If I were to buy a chra? for a turbo would this make it a brand new turbo? I know its a dumb question..

Sort of. The turbine housing and compressor housings are just solid chunks of metal. The compressor housing shouldn't be a big deal but the turbine housings often crack over time. If you're is in good shape then essentially yes it's a new turbo.
