New throwout bearing looks bad

So I received my new oem throwout bearing from extremepsi today and the bearing is off center, there is no play in the bearing it rotates fine, feels a little stiff but I think its suppose to. I tried to wiggle it to the center position and it wont budge. Will it work fine or should I request a new one?

Look at the gaps around the bearing surface and the outer shell almost none on the left and a huge one on the right.

I would not run that bearing with is being off center the bearings will wear fast and you will end up regretting it in the end

The one on there site sit perfectly in the center.... Looks like I am gonna be on the phone tomorrow.

Believe it or not, the OEM throwout bearing is that way by design. The reason is to distribute wear on the pressure plate fingers over a wider area. If you were to precisely measure everything you'd find the nylon centre bore is dead-true to centre and to the outer shell. We noticed the same offset section a while back and thought it was a defect. After looking into it, we confirmed it was an intentional design. Just for laughs, we checked about two dozen OEM bearings over a period of several months and every single one looked like that. No harm in contacting Extreme though.

I agree. Ive done numerous throw out bearing replacements. They are supposed to be like that.

RUN IT!

The bearing will have slight resistance, thats good. That means its new!
it will have the same resistance as all the timing pulleys do when they are new.
