2G new set or rims

Help with buying new set of rims. Want to stay at a size 17' rim. Also want the widest tire on 17' possible. And a good offset also. Been doing resurch and 235/40/17 is biggest i can go. So help on rims and tires plesae. Any input is great. Will be still looking at different post.

I just purchased xxr rims 17x8.25 and the tires I have is 235/45/17 it rubbed a little in the back because of the wide rim but I had the inner fender rolled and all good now. Grips and handles good on turns also the offset is +35, barely pokes out in the front lowered on tein S tech springs

Ok thanks. Can you go with a deeper offset like 40 without rubbing?

Also could i run a 17x9 rim? Looking for max i can go.

You can go as wide as you want just depending on the work you want to do on the body to roll and pull fenders. You mean lower offset like +25? Max I seen people go without all the fender work is about +30 or +35 and how low you want your car

So you know the smaller the + offset the further the wheel will stick out toward the fender there is + and - offset wheels so a +40 offset will tuck further under the car then a +25

You can run them i would suggest like a +44 offset and like a 235/45/17 but that is gonna give that strech look that i cant stand but more and your running into have to roll fenders if your gonna roll fenders then you can do 245/35/17

Ok thanks. And yea i was going to roll fenders anyway. I have a stock suspension also. Might just wait and do coal overs after.

So what is the rim size i would be ok with. 17x8.5 or 17x9?

I run EVO Enkei rims and run both 235/45 and 245/40 tires. I believe they are a +38 offset. I only needed to lightly roll the rear fenders to prevent rubbing. I am also at stock ride height. Check out my profile for the White 2g for pics (the ones on pavement).

All of the pics on pavement will be 17 inch. The others are likely 15 inch rims.

Yea those were it. They look good. Want to see a set on my car. I want more offset out or the bigget tire i can possibly run.

I would not run any larger than a 245 on the EVO 8 rims.

Rim width? Evo 8 Enkei is 17 x 8 +38

A particular pic? Still shots on pavement are 235/45/17
Shots on track are 245/40/17 on same type of rim. (I have multiple sets as they are cheap to get a hold of.)

GofaST4life has 17x9 +35 with 255/40/17 tires with about a 1.5-1.75 drop and only rubs when he makes really hard turns. I am looking to go this route when my tires are used up. His car looks like a beast.
