Well I still haven't been able to figure the problem with my talon wit the oil in the spark plug chamber so its gonna have to wait til the summer due to -24 degree wind chills here. Well I just bought a 90 eclipse fwd turbo frm my kuzn that I was actually able to drive home. Now the car is making a kind of high pitced whining noise drive belt was kinda eaten up so dunno if problem will be along that area. Ill post pics an a short clip of that noise later today when I get a chance.

sounds like you need new gaskets on the top end of you car, valve cover, spark plug well gaskets.

DSM are notorious for being run into the ground because of poor maintenance. Its just makes sense, the more horses you are making the more strain on the engine, you need to keep up with the maintenance.

If any belts show signs of wear, replace them, simple fact. Dont drive your car with failing belts, that's just asking for trouble.

Start replacing you belts, its really easy, I changed my alternator and water pump belt in 20 min with a 14mm socket and 12mm. Also check your pulley so any sign of moisture of residue on them. Oil that is leaking or any other fluid on the pulley can cause the belt to squeak.

I had oil in that same spot, it was just the valve cover gasket. Replaced the gasket, painted the valve cover again while it was off and have not had a problem since!

The high pitched whining noise, is it a squeal? My alternator belt does it from time to time on start up. It used to do it all the time but the belt was not in the correct tension and once it tightened it stopped.

Like the above poster said, always change your belts at any sign of wear.

I know I had seen the car prior to buying it and got a oem timing belt kit, everything I need for a tune up,new alternator and starter for now. I'm hoping both cars I can get running by may depending on budget. As for the talon it does not need much to it I think I've completely rebuilt the block and sent it to the trans shop and got a rebuild, just hoping its something small with the oil because both cars seem to run good just those flaws.
